The Four POA Types

Special POA: authority to perform one specific defined transaction. The safest type — risk contained to a single identifiable act; expires automatically when the act is completed. General POA: broad authority across multiple transaction categories — can be used to sell real estate, access bank accounts, and enter contracts at scale. The most dangerous instrument to issue carelessly. Judicial POA: authorizes a lawyer to represent you before all courts and judicial authorities — required for formal legal representation, without one no lawyer can appear for you in Saudi proceedings. Business POA: for company representatives and authorized corporate signatories.

The agent must actively accept before the POA activates — this mandatory acceptance safeguard prevents unauthorized use.

Verifying a POA Before Acting on It

Always verify any POA through Najiz before completing a transaction based on it. Enter the document number and date — the system immediately confirms whether it is valid, its exact scope, who the principal is, and whether it has been revoked. Acting on an expired or revoked POA exposes you to personal legal liability.

Revoking a POA — Instant Effect
